Ms Yaa Frimpomaa Kankam
Early Career Researcher
Yaa Frimpomaa Kankam is a Ph.D. Fellow on Project HOPE. She is currently a Ph.D. student at the School of Public Health, University of Ghana. Yaa holds BA in Management and Psychology, and an MBA (Human Resource Management), both from the University of Ghana. She is passionate about positively impacting the health and overall wellbeing of vulnerable populations through research and other initiatives aimed at addressing the social and health disparities they face. Yaa's Ph.D. research will primarily focus on exploring the support systems available to homeless individuals with severe mental illness in the Tamale Metropolis, Ghana. With the support of the Project Hope Team through her Ph.D. research journey, Yaa seeks to acquire the critical skills and networks that will enable her to contribute meaningfully towards the success of Project HOPE, as well strongly position her to become part of a critical mass of experts contributing towards the development and adoption of effective mental and behavioural health interventions globally.
